About Me

I am an experienced counsellor with over 1,000 hours of counselling and I practice in Edinburgh, Lothian, the Scottish Borders and Lanarkshire.

I received my training and accreditation as a couple counsellor from Relationships Scotland, the sister company of Relate in England in 2001 and initially practiced as a couple counsellor in the Scottish Borders (Peebles). I was appointed  Director of Couple Counselling Lothian (the largest voluntary relationship counselling agencies in Scotland) in 2005 until I retired in 2011.

In 2008 I received a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Edinburgh University and gained accrediation with BACP and UKRCP in 2009.   In 2011 I was awarded the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Counselling with Distinction.

In addition to counselling I also provide supervision for counsellors and am an individual tutor on the Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling at Edinburgh University.

As a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am accountable to the BACP Professional Conduct Procedure.   I am also a UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor and an accredited member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) and also abide by their Code of Conduct for sex therapy.
